Growing Great Kids

As part of the Healthy Families America (HFA) program, parent educators offer parents support through Growing Great Kids (GGK), a curriculum that provides parents with the information and tools they need to strengthen the bonds with their children for prenatal to 36 months.
The GGK curriculum is all about the relationship between the parent and child that is presented in the context of cultivating sensitive, responsive parent-child relationships. The parent educator's relationship with the parents and other family members is central to motivating and supporting them to grow their attachment and parenting skills, strengthen their family, and build life skills. The curriculum also helps build on the protective factors and buffers, and is a strength-based and solution-focused parent partnership to aid in better problem solving, stress management, and other life skills.
To better understand how the program is used, Barbara Brill, a parent educator, recently shared her experience with one family. You can read about it here.
